Research on undergraduate training mode and teaching method of packaging engineering specialty

At the same time, there are differences in the conditions, backgrounds and graduates' service areas of the major of packaging engineering in schools all over the country. Therefore, it is very important to study the talent training specifications, modes and training methods at the undergraduate stage. This paper studies and discusses the demand of packaging industry in East China, the requirements of talent training and the actual situation of packaging engineering education in our university

1 introduction

after 20 years of continuous exploration and practice, China's higher packaging education has made considerable progress. The packaging discipline system and packaging education system, which are developing synchronously with the national packaging industry, have become increasingly perfect. More and more colleges and universities have carried out packaging engineering education. Colleges and universities have done a lot of work in exploring the concept of packaging higher education, the training specifications of packaging talents, and the combination of packaging education and industry development, and have also made great achievements [1]. The original intention of packaging Xinda to focus on promoting bio capital and bio based composites is not just to occupy the highland of new material innovation. Higher education has provided a large number of high-quality talents for China's packaging industry, which has greatly promoted the development of China's packaging industry

with the rapid development of China's socialist market economy, a large number of products flock to the market and go abroad. There is an increasing demand for packaging scientific and technological achievements and advanced packaging products, which puts great pressure on China's packaging industry with weak foundation and backward technology. Therefore, in the development of higher packaging education, it is required to widely use the new achievements of modern science and technology, In order to meet the needs of high-quality talents for the development of packaging industry

For a long time, we have made some useful explorations in the social needs, industry development and talent training of our major in combination with the subject of "research and practice of modern packaging talent training" of the world bank loaned higher education teaching reform project in the early 21st century, which is presided over by our university and participated by Beijing Institute of printing and technology and Tianjin University of science and Technology (formerly Tianjin Institute of light industry). 2.1 characteristics of packaging industry and talent demand in East China

East China is one of the economically developed regions in China. The packaging industry in this region has a wide range of categories, high level and radiation. Take the carton industry as an example. According to statistics, the sales volume of the carton industry in Shanghai was 1billion yuan in 1990. By 2002, the sales volume increased to 6billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 30%. There are nearly 10 enterprises with 120 corrugated board production lines and an annual sales volume of more than 100 million yuan. Among the nearly 100 carton factories in Wuxi, 6 have sales of more than 50million yuan. The strong development momentum of the corrugated box industry in Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu is mainly due to the modern production technology, including the township enterprises with modern production level and gradually growing up, and the international large-scale paper industry groups that invest in China and bring high and new technology. They bring new production and management concepts and new technologies to the industry. At present, the national China paper packaging development and production base (Shengda Group Co., Ltd.), China paperboard development base (Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Co., Ltd.), China paper products nanotechnology application research center (Shangfeng packaging group) and other large-scale packaging professional production bases and centers of China Packaging Technology Association have all settled in Zhejiang region; At the end of 2002, the world carton giant Japan tenawang Co., Ltd. acquired Changzhou Changfeng Packaging Co., Ltd., which ranked first in Jiangsu Province, and made efforts to build it into the strongest company in China's carton packaging industry [2]. In 2003, the Asian packaging center and the Asian Packaging Center manufacturing center were established in Hangzhou and Jiangyin respectively, injecting new vitality into the packaging industry in East China. In addition to the paper packaging industry, the development of plastic packaging, metal packaging, glass packaging, packaging machinery and packaging printing is also very rapid

the rapidly growing economic strength of the Yangtze River Delta and more and more international investors have promoted the rapid development of the packaging industry in this region. From January to April 2004 alone, more than ten enterprises from Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi and Hangzhou came to our school to recruit packaging and printing laboratories UL94 flammability grade V-0 brush talents; We also found in the survey of the graduates of grade 1996 ~ 1999, 53.5% of the graduates in recent years chose the Yangtze River Delta as their preferred working area, and 17.8% chose the Pearl River Delta

according to statistics, in recent years, the enterprises that need packaging professionals in East China are packaging design (including packaging structure, packaging decoration and advertising design), carton (carton), product sales, quality control, packaging production management, quality inspection, packaging materials, packaging equipment and electromechanical product production. A certain proportion of students chose non packaging industry

2.2 requirements for technical quality of packaging practitioners

as mentioned above, the packaging industry covers a wide range of areas and has high requirements for students' ability. For this reason, we have investigated the employment experience of the employed students. Among the factors related to the teaching process, the most important ones of the enterprises are: learning the pressure testing machine, also known as the experience of learning the compressive strength testing machine (including the curriculum, practice links, minor majors, school performance, etc.); Graduation institutions (including the fame, professional advantages, teaching and experimental conditions of the University); Professional knowledge (generally assessed by packaging design examples); Practical experience; Comprehensive ability; Expressive ability; Computer application ability, foreign language proficiency (generally see two certificates), etc. Therefore, in addition to their own learning experience and school factors, the basic qualities that students should have include:

many students mentioned the requirements of enterprises for practical experience in the questionnaire. Specifically, it depends on whether the students have carried out relevant practical activities, especially packaging design training, scientific research training, etc

(3) comprehensive ability

refers to the ability to comprehensively apply the learned knowledge, analyze and solve professional and technical problems. This major covers a wide range of subjects, and there are many and miscellaneous courses. Without a strong ability to comprehensively analyze and solve problems, we will not be able to effectively use the knowledge learned in the classroom to meet the needs of numerous packaging enterprises and the packaging departments of major enterprises

(4) expression ability

includes written expression and oral expression ability. Modern packaging enterprises not only require engineering and technical personnel to have strong problem analysis and engineering design ability, but also require them to be able to skillfully use scientific and technological language to write various scientific and technological styles, and be able to accurately express themselves and promote the enterprise in oral language

computer application ability and foreign language level are the two basic requirements of modern enterprises for talents. For students majoring in packaging engineering, computer application ability is particularly important, mainly including packaging CAD technology and development, packaging design visual communication and computer-aided design

3 exploration on training mode and method of talents in packaging engineering

3.1 training mode

packaging engineering is an applied technology discipline with the combination of "Engineering" and "Art (Technology)". For the four-year undergraduate education, it is unrealistic for students to master all the knowledge in the subject field, and the training purpose of the undergraduate stage should focus on cultivating students' ability and adapting to the needs of market talents in multiple directions. In our teaching practice, we have set up two types of courses (modules) according to the professional characteristics and the needs of the talent market [3]: one is the direction of "packaging technology and equipment", including major courses such as packaging technology research, packaging machinery and its automation, and the course group is mainly engineering courses. The second is the direction of "packaging system design". The curriculum group mainly includes packaging design, management and art courses. Students can choose according to market demand or personal interest, and can also determine through relevant ability tests

when talking about "mode", people often give the impression of "rules" and "restrictions". The training mode mentioned here does not blindly restrict the development direction of students, but refers to setting up several directions (modules) on the basis of forming the basic specifications of the packaging engineering specialty. This is also a training mode that adapts to the characteristics of the packaging engineering specialty and reflects a kind of flexibility. According to school conditions and industry needs, more or unnecessary directions can be set up in the future. In order to meet the requirements of "wide caliber", the configuration of Engineering elective courses should reflect the intersection and integration of various modules

from the perspective of curriculum system, packaging engineering major should have the following six types of courses: wide caliber engineering basic courses, packaging technology basic and professional courses, art courses, computer and testing technology courses, related engineering elective courses and related humanities and Social Sciences elective courses. These six courses constitute the main framework for cultivating knowledge and intelligent structure of packaging engineering professionals. In teaching, we should implement the principle of combining unified requirements with teaching students according to their aptitude. On the one hand, we should adhere to the unified basic specifications for talent training, on the other hand, we can enable students to give full play to their own advantages and give full play to their talents. We should also take into account the characteristics of various schools. The content of compulsory courses should be few and precise, with emphasis on laying a good foundation. At the same time, elective courses and a series of academic lectures should be appropriately added to help expand the scope of knowledge and allow students to selectively choose some courses according to their strengths. 3.2 teaching methods

3.2.1 classroom teaching

classroom teaching is one of the main links of undergraduate teaching.
